- About Me:
- I have really loved learning about Elvis since I was 11. I was 16 at his death, and it hit me so hard, I was really hurt, like if a dear friend had passed.
He was truly a gift from God, and very gifted by Him, with such a unique arrangement of these gifts, it is mind-boggling... And you can tell, Jesus loved him much, to give Elvis such a hunger for Him.
I wanted more than anything to have been able to have been his friend - a friend on Earth he could count on.
I have written some poetry about him, trying to get my heart around this, but I only can do it in parts, there is so much to consider.
The photo of the young man to the right of this is my dad, in 1930, at 25 yrs old. He and Elvis had much in common - all of the important things that makes a person's life have worth. I miss him dearly. He is probably one reason I like Elvis - they shared so many qualities I respect and admire.
I have been drawn to the Biblical story of Job, in light of Elvis' life story. I keep coming back to this - it seems to be the only explanation that would even begin to fit, for a life like his...

- My Spiritual Path and Elvis' influence upon it:
- I am a born-again Christian, and have studied Scripture deeply, cross referencing and going back to original Greek and Hebrew teachings, since I was 21.
One of my friend’s brothers died recently and she and I are both Christians, but the brother who passed, wasn’t. She was distraught that she would never see her brother again. She said something to me I can’t forget – that somehow God must wipe away our memories of those we loved who weren’t saved, or how else could we ever be happy in Heaven, where God says in Revelations "I will wipe away all your tears..."?
In fact it was that very thought that led me to try, for the thousandth time, to witness to my dad when he was 84. Thank God he accepted Jesus' free gift then. He passed away this year at 91, being ready to go home, and though there is a hole within me that remains until we are reunited, I can bear it because I know I will see him again, and be with him forever.
Now, I also couldn’t bear the thought of not having Elvis in Heaven, but since no man can know the heart of another, one can only look at the actions to discern the heart in parts... "Out of the mouth the heart speaks..." and "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit... and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit...."
Spiritually I discern a huge spirit within Elvis – powerful, God given, nearly overwhelming. Elvis' gentleness, generosity, ability and willingness to forgive, and his lifetime commitment to try to love always, are all God-given. Plus, sin is sin- his overwhelming addiction in any person is not reason to dismiss that person's salvation, because Jesus' love is bigger than any sin.
Elvis' expressed faith in Jesus keeps my hopes up that when I am in Heaven, I will get to see him again - and get to spend eternity with him, where we can sing together of Jesus one day.
