Take your time reading...I just wanted to be sure I was not repeating too much...but had to in some areas to keep the other readers "Up on it" and make it go together though I do skip back and forth. I hope the titles help keep that clear and make it easier to follow. Any problems with it, let me know-now is the time! This one has a lot more pages...and lots of new material mixed in as well. wjh
I think it will be very interesting to new and former readers, it certainly is stuffed with things anyway. I just feel it's my last "serenade" so to speak so it's gonna be a "good one" as far as lengthy and informative in many ways. Lots of Elvis' comments on Jesus, the Bible and so forth too...he had a way of looking at things like that totally different from any preacher I ever heard then or now. He was unique to say the least...in his thoughts...and understanding of things. I can't say I ever met anyone like him before or since...his statement of "never ceases to amaze me" fits himself in every way. wjh
Thanks for the beautiful card-I didn't have one like that but have sent out a couple in the past. I have some that I keep due to the photo or the sketch etc; and that is a "Keeper" fer sure! Loved that "ice cream suit" as he called it. Bill Belew said he picked out that style for him-but actually it was Pris who had bought Elvis a couple of suits ready made in that style because he liked them-the southern influence I think-and she liked them on him too. She liked him to wear "long tailed suit jackets and to "leave his shirt out"...in public. Hummmm...I wonder why? Anyway, he looked so good in white-it bought out his spiritual qualities I think and let him shine without taking anything away from his natural beauty.
I am glad you caught the Charro-I fixed that a dozen times and my computer kept putting it back the other way-why I don't know. I finally corrected it in the spelling dictionary and it stayed fixed. I guess the computer is only as smart as the one programing it-if they miss something-well.... But this new system is better than Word for certain-it has so many errors, I was appalled at the number of spelling things that it didn't catch and office.doc did.
Thanks for giving me your phone number- I might call some time-it's nice to be able to run things by people not so close because I have added more to the manuscript here and there and every time I read some of it- I wonder and have doubts but then I think it needs to be there-still, occasionally another opinion is great to have.
It's colder here, foggy and they said it might rain...in LA maybe so, but I hope we don't get any-though it would keep the pasture alive a while longer. The horses need live food for good health and what we've been getting lately is not that good-they've hybrid and genetically fooled with bermuda grass hay now-so it's not "real" in that they combined it with what we call "water grass" and horses don't like that even before it goes to seed-they really don't like it in their hay! They are made to take small bites at a time, but growers are all for trying to make it easy to bale and easy to feed and do not consider the poor creatures eating it. So what we switched to way back there to avoid alfalfa colicing the horses-it's too rich for them-makes them ill due to their inability to digest it all properly and gas forms, and stones too here in Ca. in their gut. Anway, now this hay is starting to clog up in their guts and cause colic when for years they were colic free. I cut the stuff up into managable pieces for ours-takes a while and some effort but there's only 5 of them so not too bad. And it's worth it to avoid colic and vet bills or their death. Money is all that matters in this world-and they don't care what they have to do to get it or who or how it might affect negatively. It's a hard world these days. I hate the political bickering and crap from newscasters trying to cause trouble. What has happened to this country? We are all doomed it seems to me, and I can't see anyone really able to do anything about it running for office. Lord help us if McCain gets in-4 more years of bush...and god knows what added to that! The big corporations are running it all-they want Hillary to lose so they can snowball Obama with terror attacks-even if they have to stage some of them to do it. Obama hasn't any experience really and though he sounds good, he is certainly arrogant at times and that bothers me-but they all bother me-so what to do? Hide-might be a good thing-and stock up on staples-I have a feeling we are going to need them! Everything is going to be scarace-I mean everything-including water and foods...and probably medicines that aren't tainted and anything else that we need that someone can make money off of. I guess I am cyncial or something? oh well, time to take a break and listen to some Elvis music I guess...
Thanks so much for your insight and the card and letter...it means a good deal to me, Fran.
Jimmie had a kidney stone a few years ago-we took him to emergency and I was concerned it might be a heartattack coming on-but they said no. He has very low blood presure and though it's good in some ways, it was so low at the hospital they thought he was on the verge of dying, but he's always had a low one-so did his mom and his sister...runs in their family. They all lived to be old-those that didn't smoke or drink that is... Jimme does neither so he has a chance of hanging around a while. I have no desire to do that-I do not want to end up like Suzy has-it's not worth it though she isn't truly aware of how much she's lost-but she knows something isn't right, just can't put her finger on it. It does bother her at times, and she says she is lonely too but doesn't know why that is...so somewhere back in there she knows it's not the same as before. She's back in her teen years now and the times she was married to Gene Autry's guitar player and touring on the road across country and making movies. She remembers Elvis at times, but askes us who that man is in the pictures she has...then when we tell her, she remembers him well. It's odd how the mind works.
Well, take care- They barely make incisions for that surgery these days-so small they are healed in no time. A few people all men too, we know who had it done were suprised how easy it was and the fact they had little pain compared to what the stone caused!!! Oh, he should not drink soda pop, and should drink water that has gone through the osmois process as it removes the stuff in it that causes the stones to form. Soda pop is a biggie for doing that too. Jimmie was a big pepsi and coke drinker for years-it finally got him-and I don't buy that or allow him to buy it anymore-plus we have the reverse osmosis thing on our drinking water source. Bottled water won't do the job unless it states it is made from that type water purifier. Arrowhead water has those that go under the sink and do a great job-makes everything better too. I use it for cooking as well-our tap water tastes offal after using the filter system! It costs for two, one for us one for Starla-64 dollars a month- we rent ours so they will service it free-but they can be bought and they will come out and service them for a charge-once a year is usually enough. And it's been free of any problems for 6 years now. Starla is allergic to clorine and has to have water free of that-it's so much cheaper than bottled water! Arrowhead isn't reverse osmosis in the bottles either-it has to be on the plumbing system at your home source. wjh

Carola
